Northwest Rapid Transit (NRT) has awarded Tunnelling Solutions the contract to build the underground Norwest pedestrian link on the $8.3 billion Sydney Metro Northwest project.
The pedestrian link will be constructed under Norwest Boulevard to provide a second pedestrian entry point to Norwest Station from the retail and business precincts.
The team at Tunnelling Solutions are excited to be a part of this project and are well equipped to provide first class technical input to this challenging work.
Existing cable anchors and rock support need to be removed from the alignment of the tunnel within the station box prior to the team installing 15, 40m long canopy tubes which are 350mm in diameter. The shaft and tunnel will be excavated and lined using permanent shotcrete with a spray on waterproof membrane sandwiched within the tunnel lining.
