Glenroy Storm Water Pipe Jack
As part of the Level Crossing Removal Works on Glenroy Road in Melbourne, John Holland engaged Tunnelling Solutions to complete a 1.2m dia, 360mm pipe jack. Tunnelling Solutions supplied all equipment and labour on a Lump Sum Contract and used an AVN1200 slurry machine provided by the client.
The geology was challenging with almost the entire drive in soft clay and low cover (600m) at the receival shaft and adjacent live rail. These conditions have the potential to delay program and increase costs.
Being experts in their field, Tunnelling Solutions approach each and every project with creativity and innovation to provide best practice solutions. In this case, the most cost effective and productive solution was to redesign the slurry treatment plant at 100m into the drive.
This ingenuity on behalf of Tunnelling Solutions, resulted in improved productivity, a decrease in slurry costs and delivery of project to schedule.
